Mathew Carey graduated from the University of South Florida with a degree in Criminology. He then attended Charleston School of Law with aspirations of working as a defense attorney for those being accused of crimes. While in school, he had multiple friends and family who were involved in auto accidents, further opening his eyes to the great hardships that follow these life changing events.

Mathew was also the victim of 2 auto accidents when he was in his early 20’s, but he did not receive medical care or assistance from legal representation. He decided he wanted to assist those who were like him, who may not know the importance of treatment, or how vital it is to have an advocate in their corner.  Mathew graduated in from Charleston School of Law in 2022, and immediately joined Strong Law.

Before Law School, Mathew was a Quality Assurance Engineer for Clare Controls, a home automation company in Florida. His sole responsibility was to find any flaws, errors, and bugs that could occur from regular use of the product. This responsibility also extended to the rare and unthinkable occurrences from improper use of the product, which required looking at the product from the eyes of everyday users, and not just through the eyes of someone who knows how things “should work”. In most accidents, the impact to your life is far greater than the injury sustained, and this is precisely why seeing the case through the client’s eyes is so important.  He still applies that same attention to detail in his approach to every case, finding flaws in the insurance companies’ version of events, as well as in their reasoning for case values when negotiating on behalf of his clients.

When he is not working, Mathew is involved with his local community and enjoys spending quality time with his wife and daughter , playing basketball in Men’s Leagues, coaching AAU basketball, bowling, any and all water activities, travelling, and spending time with his nieces and nephews.
